RF radiation survey meter
knows where it's at
Link Microtek has a new RF radiation survey meter that offers a GPS facility for automatically displaying the co-ordinates of the positions where measurements are taken
Manufactured in Italy by PMM, the Model 8053A meter is designed for use with any of the company's comprehensive range of three-axis isotropic field probes. Depending on the probe selected, the meter can cover frequencies ranging from 10Hz to 40GHz, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications.

The 8053A features a large 7 x 7cm graphic LCD, which enables clear viewing of several different parameters at the same time.
Readings are displayed both digitally and in analogue form using either linear or logarithmic scales, and the meter can also perform arithmetic, quadratic and spatial averaging.
Levels that exceed user-defined thresholds automatically trigger an acoustic alarm and a blinking symbol on the display.
Incorporating an internal real-time clock and low-frequency filters, the 8053A offers a dynamic range of greater than 100dB.
The meter is capable of storing up to 32,700 measurements in its internal memory, and it is supplied complete with a serial cable and firmware for downloading data to a PC.
Equipped with rechargeable NiMH batteries, the 8053A includes a programmable auto shutoff facility to achieve an operating time of at least 20h, with a full recharge time of less than 4h.
This robustly constructed meter has overall dimensions of 108 x 240 x 50mm and weighs just 1.07kg.
