Link Microtek has set up a new European hub arrangement that is enabling customers in the UK and across the continent to benefit from much shorter delivery times for products manufactured by Narda Microwave. Working closely with two continental specialist distributors - Salies in France and Globes Elektronik in Germany - Link Microtek has established total European stockholdings of Narda components worth in excess of GBP 0.75 million.

Each of the three members of the hub stocks a complementary portfolio of products, so there is no duplication.
When an order is received by any one of the three partners, it is immediately forwarded to the company that stocks the specified item.
Orders are then despatched either directly to the customer or to the local distributor.
According to Link Microtek's sales director, Tony Norris, the new hub arrangement is proving to be a great success: 'As inventory risk is now shared between the three partners, we have been able to greatly increase the range and quantity of Narda products available from stock.
This has reduced lead times on some lines from 16 weeks to just 24 hours'.
Stock moves between the three distributors at cost, so there are no internal mark-ups, and stock information is shared using secure pages on the companies' websites.
'We have had some very positive feedback from customers', continued Norris, 'and we are currently looking at ways to expand the hub concept into other areas'.
