LeCroy has developed an innovative CANbus test solution based on its popular WaveRunner 6000 series oscilloscopes. Whereas vector analysers can do only part of the job, the combination of the CANbus TD and a WaveRunner scope provides a perfect solution for locating CANbus physical layer problems and debugging CANbus controllers and systems. It is unique in allowing a user to correlate physical layer signals with protocol layer data information.

Having all of this information in one place will allow users to intuitively find problems of which they weren't aware, will increase parts and systems reliability, and will lower costs.

CANbus TD combines standard LeCroy oscilloscope capabilities, CANbus triggering, and protocol decode in one test system.

It is simple to capture a specific CAN message or error frame and view protocol data on the same display as the CAN analogue signals.

A highly flexible CANbus trigger allows the user to trigger in multiple formats (hexadecimal, binary, or even decimal) for a wide variety of setup conditions.

This eliminates the need to search through a long capture for the right CAN message.

Users can determine sources of bus errors by triggering on just error frames, and then directly viewing the CAN error frame analogue signal.

This gives an intuitive understanding of the underlying problem on the bus.
