The new WavePro 7000 and WavePro 7100 (1GHz) and WavePro 7300 (3GHz) DSOs incorporate LeCroy's patented X-Stream technology and advanced WaveShape analysis capability at a price point which has broader appeal than the top of the line WaveMaster scopes (up to 6GHz bandwidth). The WavePro 7100 and WavePro 7300 bring unprecedented oversampling capability and memory to their respective oscilloscope classes. Sampling rates of up to 4 x 10Gsample/s, with a maximum sample rate of 2 x 20Gsample/s in two-channel mode can be combined with up to 4 x 24 million points acquisition memory and as many as 2 x 48 million points in dual channel.

This industry leading acquisition technology at 1 and 3GHz allows the WavePro to capture signals with superior accuracy.

There are no compromises in sampling rate or the amount of memory which can be acquired at high sample rate.

Previous scopes in the 1-3GHz performance range could not offer this level of accuracy/technology.

Additionally, the WavePro 7300 is the first scope to offer the flexibility of a 3GHz performance at 50ohm along with the convenience of a high impedance input for capturing lower bandwidth signals (up to 500MHz).

At such high sampling rates, data records become lengthy (20 points per nanosecond sampling rate produces a million points of data when capturing a 50us signal) so LeCroy also adds X-Stream technology to the new scopes.

With the patented X-Stream capability, data records are packetised and streamed to the microprocessor for extremely fast analysis which optimises the use of cache memory.

WavePro DSOs offer a choice of acquisition memory lengths starting with a long standard memory of 1M points per channel (WP7000 500k) on each channel and extending to an industry-leading 24Mbyte/channel.

Intermediate memory choices are 4, 8 and 16Mbyte/channel.

In all cases, the data acquisition memory length is doubled if only one or two of the inputs is used.

LeCroy offers the same X-Map package of advanced capabilities for the WavePro line as is offered on the top of the line WaveMaster scopes.

X-Map contains three options (X-Math, X-Dev and JTA-2), which can also be ordered separately.

The X-Math package provides eight maths traces, maths on parameter measurements, histogramming up to 2 billion events, trending and 19 histogram parameters.

X-Math also enhances the standard FFT abilities.

Similarly, only LeCroy scopes with the X-Math option, can draw a track that shows every value of a cyclic parameter captured.

Processing web offers a completely new and unique method to map the flow of a signal through the WaveShape.

The X-Dev option allows engineers to write their own scripts in Visual Basic, Matlab, Mathcad or Excell and import those files directly into the processing chain of the scope.

The JTA-2 jitter and timing analysis option allows measurement of a wide variety of timing parameters including period, width, cycle-to-cycle and other characteristics.

Results can be presented as statistics, histograms or time domain tracks.

The user can also view a jitter FFT which gives a spectral fingerprint of the jitter sources in a signal.
