Datalight is to develop intellectual property and provide software integration support to customers purchasing advanced OneNAND Flash memory from Samsung Electronics, under an alliance that has been recently announced. The new relationship will ensure that mid-sized manufacturers have the critical software components and development support they need to integrate Samsung OneNAND memory with operating systems in consumer electronics, industrial, automotive and security applications.

Up to now, Samsung has provided custom software integration directly for high-volume purchasers of OneNAND.
The new arrangement with Datalight enables Samsung to sell OneNAND memory for lower-volume needs, while delivering the tools and development support that is needed, using Datalight technology.
Datalight will provide software development kits for two new memory integrating products.
Datalight OneBoot is a Flash transaction layer for devices using OneNAND.
Designers use OneBoot to manage the interface between the operating system and NAND device.
It is built on the platform of Datalight's patented FlashFX, a Flash media management technology successfully implemented in a variety of applications since 1998.
Datalight OneBoot + File adds a highly reliable file system to the Flash interface layer for OneNAND.
Written specifically for embedded applications, the combined solution can be used on its own, or integrated into an operating system for additional Flash stability.
Kits for each product include limited ANSI C source code, a developer's guide, an API reference, sample applications and tools for using Datalight OneBoot or Datalight OneBoot + File.
In addition, Datalight will provide purchasers with 30 days of free product support.
Datalight products are available from Logic Technology.
