General Software has released a new support module for its industry-leading Embedded BIOS 2000 product. The new AMD GeodeT LX [email protected] processor enables existing and new users of Embedded BIOS 2000 to build highly differentiated embedded x86 products. The AMD GeodeT LX [email protected] processor was developed for high-performance low power applications in mobile computing, access devices, computing devices, single board computers and multimedia devices.
'General Software's Embedded BIOS 2000 with Firmbase Technology will provide a mature, widely used platform for the new the AMD Geode LX [email protected] processor', said Erik Salo, AMD's Director of Marketing for the Personal Connectivity Solutions Group.

The support module is offered as an option for Embedded BIOS 2000, the world's most configurable BIOS development kit.
Licensed in source code form, developers are free to tailor the BIOS to fit the exact needs of the device they are creating, rather than being constrained by architectures more applicable to desktop PCs.
The AMD GeodeT LX [email protected] processor includes full implementation for the processor's important features, including all ACPI power management modes, graphics and audio support.
Full support of the companion chip is included, along with BIOS level UDMA and quick boot.
The processor is fully compatible with General Software's unique Firmbase Technology and Firmware Application Suite, an integrated set of prewritten applications employing Firmbase Technology that enable important device management functions; boot security, platform updating and high availability.
The module is available for immediate shipment from Logic Technology.
Development licences start at $7500 for existing users.
