The Lava Quattro-PCI/LP (four-port serial card) is the latest addition to the Lava line of multiport serial cards in a low-profile form factor. Retail POS system builders and kiosk integrators will enjoy a new level of flexibility and control over POS systems by instantly adding four high speed COM ports (16550 UARTs) with detachable fan-out cables on the PCIbus. No other multiport serial card offers as much flexibility for space-constrained POS systems than the Lava Quattro-PCI/LP (four-port serial card).

This 60mm high board is designed to fit compact chassis such as All-in-One, compact POS, 2U rackmount, slimline, and FlexATX motherboard systems.

Engineered with Moko S-1 ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) technology, the Lava Quattro-PCI/LP (four-port serial card) consolidates a number of separate components into a single chip for a reliable hardware design.

All four serial COM ports support baud rates up to 115.2Kbit/s, while sharing only one system IRQ.

With each peripheral device requiring its own dedicated point-to-point connection, the Lava Quattro-PCI/LP (four-port serial card) secures any POS architecture with reliable connectivity, while ensuring a compact system has the flexibility to manage multiple devices.

RS232 serial connections to the Lava Quattro-PCI/LP (four-port serial card) can be made via supplied fan-out cables or onboard PIN headers.

Other low profile PCI cards include: Lava Parallel-PCI/LP (one port parallel card), Lava SSerial-PCI/LP (one port serial card) and the Lava DSerial-PCI/LP (two port serial card).
