Lauterbach has extended its Trace32 ICD-Debugger and Trace32 PowerTools product range to support the Xilinix MicroBlaze architecture. MicroBlaze is a configurable soft core based on a 32bit Harvard RISC architecture that was developed especially for FPGA designs. The Lauterbach Trace32 ICD and PowerDebug modules are connected to the host computer over USB or Ethernet.

They provide access to the target application's debug resources over the JTAG interface.

As the same debugger also supports the PowerPC 405 processor core, Lauterbach debuggers are extremely well suited for the development of multicore FPGA designs with several PPC405 and/or MicroBlaze cores.

The MicroBlaze debugger supports all standard debugging functions, such as HLL- and assembler display, an unlimited number of software breakpoints, on-chip breakpoints and watchpoints.
