Kozio has announced full support for Advanced Micro Circuits Corporation's (AMCC) embedded PowerPC 440SP and 440SPe processors

Product developers can have a complete diagnostics solution in as little as two weeks using Kozio's kDiagnostics, kManufacturing, kPOST and kField software. Kozio delivers turnkey diagnostics for custom boards using the AMCC PowerPC 440SP and 440SPe just two weeks after a purchase order is issued.

Evaluation versions of kDiagnostics are now available for AMCC's Luan and Yucca platforms via the Kozio website.

'We are delighted to see Kozio introduce kDiagnostics software for our 440SP and 440SPe processors', said Charlie Ashton, Director of PowerPC Software at AMCC.

'Our customers have told us how much they value advanced system-level diagnostics as a way to minimise their time to market and reduce their development risk'.

'Both these factors are critical for customers developing advanced, high-bandwidth storage systems based on the 440SP and 440SPe processors'.

'We look forward to seeing our customers adopt Kozio's solutions as a key element of their system software'.

Kozio now offers complete support for all AMCC PowerPC 405xx and 440xx processors.

kDiagnostics software provides hardware diagnostics used for debugging and testing every facet of custom boards.

kManufacturing streamlines manufacturing testing and product serialisation.

kPOST provides a turnkey image requiring no bootloader, OS or application software and provides configurable power-on self-test.

With the full diagnostic package, Kozio supplies a full-board test report within minutes of running its software on custom boards using the AMCC 440SP and 440SPe storage processors.

'Supporting the 440SPe further broadens our extensive coverage of AMCC's embedded processor family', states Keith Short, Kozio Director of Technology.

'With this release our suite of diagnostics products also supports testing of the next generations of PCI Express peripherals, providing design engineers with a tool to fully validate their entire design at the earliest prototype stages'.

For developers of products based on AMCC PowerPC 405xx and 440xx processors, and a wide range of other processor families from leading manufacturers, Kozio provides a completely integrated diagnostics solution, including drivers for peripherals, as well as turnkey test suites for Ethernet, I2C, USB, HSS and other features provided through the core processor architecture.

Kozio also leverages its extensive hardware expertise to provide professional services delivering custom test suite supporting custom logic via ASICs, FPGAs and other forms.

Licensing is offered per board design.

Kozio also provides PCI Express support and capabilities.

This evolutionary upgrade to the PCIbus is a two-way serial connection that carried data in packets.

Kozio supports multiple PCI Express lanes and provides basic configuration testing, link protocol testing and transaction protocol testing.
