Acoustic receiver promises top-quality sound
Knowles Acoustics has developed the first-ever round balanced armature receiver.
Knowles Acoustics has developed the first-ever round balanced armature receiver.
The new SR Series is designed to meet the demands of the thriving digital media market and compliment existing BA products as the first-rate alternative for the common headset platform, at exceptional value.
The receiver has been optimised in its construction to deliver exceptional acoustics for audio listening.
In its new round package, the SR Series produces high sound pressure levels (113-121dB) at low frequencies (50-100Hz) to provide superior bass performance.
The receiver also delivers ample output (116-120dB SPL) at higher frequencies (13Hz into a 711 coupler) to provide a natural high-fidelity response.
At 8.8mm in diameter, the SR receiver competes with more traditional audio headset components (dynamic speakers) remains ideal for in-ear applications, and minimises redesign of existing headsets.
These devices, which are used in pro audio as well as high-end earphones, can now be considered as the entry level for top quality headset in the mainstream market.
"Being a recognised leader in acoustics for the professional earphone market, we listened to the needs of our customers for their future product designs".
"Because of its outstanding performance, we were determined to offer our balanced armature technology to the mass market in the traditional device package", said Angelo Assimakopoulus, Director of New Business Development for Knowles Acoustics.
"The end result was a round receiver that offered superior bass response while delivering the clear crisp sounds that Knowles components are renowned for".
The SR Series is a new platform for acoustic receiver development at Knowles Acoustics.
Additional products to the SR platform are already in development for release over the next few years.
