Meeting MIL-STD-810F ratings for shock, vibration and temperature, the CVX-Server features a solid, rugged, unitised aluminium construction to protect internal subsystems.
It also offers impressive expansion capabilities with interfaces including IEEE1394, USB 2.0, wireless 802.11b/g and a CompactFlash slot.
An open mini PCI slot for integrated 802.11g and a half-length PCI slot give the user or OEM the ability to turn their MDT or in-vehicle embedded system into a digital video recorder (DVR).

With its three-piece, space-saving, modular design, the EnVoy II allows the monitor and keyboard to be mounted near the operator while the server is mounted in the trunk, under the seat, in the glove box or elsewhere - away from the passenger area.
"With the EnVoy II, Kontron is proud to once again introduce the most advanced in-vehicle computing technology available", said Dale Szymborski, President.
"With real-time data capture and transmission capabilities now a must for public safety and other mobile computing applications, the EnVoy II has the features that turn a vehicle into a centralised mobile command centre".
The EnVoy's 1.7GHz Intel Mobile Pentium M 735 processor is the fastest to be used to date in a Kontron Mobile Computing mobile data server.
The unit features ample RAM and removable storage, with a 40Gbyte removable hard drive (expandable to 80Gbyte), 512Mbyte of DRAM (upgradeable to 1Gbyte) with 64Mbyte of video DRAM.
Display options include a 12.1in, 1400nit touch screen or a 10.4in, 1200nit touch screen at 800 x 600 SGVA.
Kontron's resistive matrix touch screens are designed to function even when damaged.
Dual display capabilities allow the option of driving two displays at different resolutions.
Other features include: a full-sized keyboard with sealed mouse and eight levels of backlit, night time key lighting; wide operating temperature and humidity ranges, with operation from -15 to +60C made possible by the EnVoy II fanless cooling system; and operating system support for Windows 2000 Professional and XP Pro.
