Panther quiet cooling fan technology is now available in new form factors ranging from 60 to 92mm. Panther fans operate by converting a conventional low-frequency signal to a high-frequency signal. By operating at switching levels above 20kHz, Panther fans produce a soft commutation that results in a quiet operation that is above the audible range for human hearing.
High-frequency, silent operation is achieved when running Panther fans at low speeds.
At a fixed low speed, a Panther fan registers as much as a threefold in sound pressure, as measured in decibels, over a standard DC fan of the same form factor.
"JMC understands the importance of fan noise in the electronics industry therefore we dedicated a team to designing a new fan technology that addresses the stringent acoustic demands of our market", states Jerry Johns, VP Sales and Engineering.
"With our newly expanded line of Panther fans we are now able to offer our customers a wide variety of silent DC fans", he adds.
Panther fan technology is available in a low-speed units measuring 60 x 15, 60 x 25, 70 x 15, 70 x 25, 80 x 15, 80 x 25 and 92 x 25mm.
These fixed-speed fans are ideally suited for applications that run at low temperatures such as consumer electronics, medical devices and a multitude of other electronic enclosures where silent operation is required.
The Panther fan design is a highly efficient, direct design with a single-phase motor and bipolar drive that allows the fan to operate at a low current level.
Dual-ball-bearing Panther fans are available now to OEM and distribution customers and range in price from $4 to $6 depending on fan size, features, and quantities ordered.
All JMC products are guaranteed to be free of defects in material and workmanship when operated under specified temperature, humidity and voltage ratings.
