JK Microsystems has released the 4Serial/Parallel peripheral board for use with the popular LogicFlex controller.

Addressing the demand for compact, Ethernet equipped single-board computers; the LogicFlex is an ideal DOS based solution for embedded monitoring, data acquisition and control applications requiring TCP/IP connectivity.

Powered by a 25MHz Intel 386Ex microprocessor, the LogicFlex offers over 40 digital I/O lines, 10Base-T Ethernet port, a Xilinx in-circuit programmable CPLD, a hardware clock/calendar, 512Kbyte SRAM and 512Kbyte Flash memory, a socket for M-Systems DiskOnChip products as well as two PC compatible serial ports.

With additional features such as the watchdog timer, counter/timers, interrupt controller, and an expansion bus, the industry proven LogicFlex covers many embedded designs.

For multiple serial port applications, the new 4Serial/Parallel peripheral board provides developers with the flexibility of adding four serial ports and a parallel port to the LogicFlex - allowing the system to interface up to six serial devices.

For ease of development, the 4Serial/Parallel peripheral kit contains the ribbon cable and standoffs necessary to connect the two boards together.

The serial ports are fully compatible with the IBM PC at both the hardware and software levels.

Starting at only $89, the 4Serial/Parallel peripheral board is a useful addition to JK Microsystem's line of cost-effective embedded solutions.
