ITT Interconnect is supporting CFast - the small form-factor removable-storage standard from the Compact Flash Association (CFA) - with two-piece ultrasonic weld cover-sets and 24-way connectors.
ITT's CFast covers offer the optimal solution for cover-set toughness.
CFast cover sets and 24-way connectors are available in either Type I or Type II packages
A plastic frame is melded around the perimeter of the cover and orientated into position with guide posts, which simplifies assembly.
Once assembled, the covers are ultrasonically welded together in a continuous weld-joint around the perimeter of the card.
This process provides rigid CFast products and allows OEMs to streamline their manufacturing processes to deliver cost-effective solutions while maximising production efficiencies.
CFast cover sets and 24-way connectors are available in either Type I or Type II packages.
The surface-mount connectors are rated at 1.5A per pin and designed to exhibit no discontinuity greater than 100ns.
Total mating force is 28.8N maximum at 25mm/minute; total unmating force is 3.7N minimum and 24.5N maximum at 25mm/minute; and durability is 10,000 mating cycles.
Operating temperature range is -55C to +85C.
