A novel SMT board stacking connector from Zierick Manufacturing Corp surface mounts to both the bottom and top of a PCB

Using capillary action, the new connector provides a superior solder joint strength, and thus a more reliable connection than through-hole pins. The board stacking connectors are self-centring and offer coplanarity within 0.001in, eliminating alignment problems. They use minimal real estate, allowing additional components to be placed on the PCB and providing design flexibility.

In addition, they have low contact resistance and a high current rating to meet today's modular power requirements.

They are available in bulk, on pallets or on SMT tape.
