High power capability and space-saving TO-126 design make resistors ideal for power circuit applications, particularly in automatic test equipment.

New from TT Electronics IRC Advanced Film Division, the MHP20S Series TO-126 resistor features a noninductive thermally resistant design and is rated up to 20W.

"The MHP20S power resistor features a complete thermal design, allowing for power ratings that normally wouldn't be realised in a TO-126 package", says Gary Bleasdell, Thick Film Business Unit Director for IRC Advanced Film Division.

"The high-power capability in the space-saving design makes the resistor ideal for power circuit applications, particularly those in automatic test equipment".

Within automatic test equipment applications, the MHP20S resistor is specified for pin driver use in IC and board testers.

Additional applications include pulse handling circuits, motor control and drive circuits and switch-mode power supplies.

The MHP20S Series 20W resistors feature a resistance range of 0.01 to 220ohm, with a thermal resistance of 5.9C and a dielectric withstanding voltage of 2000V DC.

Absolute tolerances are to +/-1 and +/-5%, with absolute TCR to +/-50ppm/C.

Operating temperature range is -55 to +155C.

IRC will also produce devices outside these specifications to meet customer requirements.

Pricing for the MHP20S Series TO-126 power resistor is US $0.52 each in quantities of 500 pieces.

Lead time is from stock to 8 weeks.
