Electronic equipment used in harsh environments requires connectors that can withstand moisture, dust and the ingress of other harmful materials. A new waterproof D-subminiature connector system from In2Connect includes UL and CSA approved standard D configurations as well as high density, mixed layout and filtered options, all of which can be used in applications where moisture, high humidity, water or dust could be a problem. Socket and plug connectors are available with solder cup, straight or right angled PCB contacts.

Features include: synthetic frame with O-ring for front or rear sealing of connector to panel; connectors internally 'sealed' to prevent ingress around the contacts; machined precision contacts, plated classes 1, 2 or 3 for high reliability; shells available in yellow chromate, tinned and dimpled, or gold finish; mounting threads in 4-40 UNC or M3; cable-end versions for harnessing; D-type water resistant hoods and sealing caps; and devices available from 9 to 78 ways plus combo mixed layout and EMI/RFI filtered series.

Because of the wide range of configurations available, these waterproof connectors are assembled to order.
