Battery authentication ICs incorporate very high levels of security using a basic challenge/response scheme based on 32bit challenge code and 8bit response code.
Intersil has released two devices it reckons are the most advanced and flexible battery authentication ICs for cellphones using its novel FlexiHash technology The ISL9206 and ISL9206A are cost-competitive battery authentication ICs that incorporate Intersil's FlexiHash+ engine
