The Endura ISL6571 SynchroFET combo IC combines a power driver with two MOSFETs in a power-efficient QFN package to significantly save board space, simplify architecture and cut component costs
The Endura ISL6571 SynchroFET combo IC combines a power driver with two mosfets in a power-efficient quad flatpack no-lead (QFN) package that significantly saves board space, simplifies architecture and reduces the component cost. This integrated device provides improved performance and cost savings for powering microprocessor and power-hungry ASIC based systems.

The ISL6571 replaces discrete power supply solutions that usually challenge designers because of high switching frequencies and increased power requirements which result in high-current path inductance, ringing, component stress and EMI.
Circuit board layout and especially mosfet gate drive path length are critical as are careful selection of the switching and synchronous mosfet parameters.
This Endura SynchroFET solves these problems because the complementary mosfet driver, synchronous half-bridge switch and Schottky diode are integrated into a small yet thermally efficient 68-lead 10 x 10mm QFN package.
This virtually eliminates any problems associated with poor power stage component layout and critical selection of mosfets.
The ISL6571 is optimised to work with Intersil's synchronous multiphase PWM buck controllers, such as the HIP630X series and ISL65XX series products as part of a complete power control stage ideal for compact and highly efficient low-voltage DC/DC buck convertors powering CPUs and power-hungry ASICs.
The high packaging density of the ISL6571 driver/mosfet combination reduces layout parasitics, and enables the DC/DC convertor to operate at frequencies up to 1MHz/phase, thus dramatically reducing the overall printed circuit board area.
In addition to saving space, the new ISL6571 requires fewer external components and provides accurate current sensing, adaptive mosfet switch non-overlap time, accurate temperature feedback, increased power density, and makes it possible to place the power train closer to the load.
Complete reference designs, evaluation boards (ISL6571EVAL1) and circuit layouts are available to support customers and reduce time to market.
