Intersil Corp has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its discrete power business to Fairchild Semiconductor International for approximately $338 million in cash.
Intersil Corp has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its discrete power business to Fairchild Semiconductor International for approximately $338 million in cash, completing its transition to a company focused on wireless access and communications analogue (including power management) markets Intersil expects a one-time gain during the quarter ending 30th March and will use the proceeds for complementary acquisitions, alliances and product development efforts to strengthen its position as leading supplier of semiconductors for communications solutions
