IKOS Systems has launched a rental and rent-to-own programme, iEN (iEmulate Now)

iEN enables virtually every company doing SoC designs to bring the power of emulation to the designer's desk. It is a low-cost rental programme that requires no payments during the first 90 days. The iEN program was created to enable small organisations and others restricting capital outlay to cost-effectively use emulation on their site.

"Companies trying to verify complex, large designs don't question whether or not they need emulation technology, but when they can fit it into their budget", said Linda Prowse Fosler, vice president of marketing for IKOS.

"With our new iEN programme the answer is right now.

The iEN rental program allows virtually any SoC designer to start emulating today with every dollar of that rental investment applicable toward future purchase for those who wish do so".

iEmulate Now gives customers immediate on-site access to IKOS' VStation-5M high-performance verification system for as little as $40,150 per month.

Customers who rent for 24 months will own their VStation-5M at a price below full list.

There no payments for the first 3 months, and the rental can be converted to a purchase at any time with 100% credit of all rental fees IKOS' VStation-5M emulation system is a complete SoC verification station offering a simulation-like user interface; easy-to-use in-circuit emulation, high-performance comodelling through the Transaction Interface Portal (TIP); data streaming with virtually unlimited vector width and fully integrated RTL compile and debug capabilities.

The VStation-5M emulator verifies highly complex designs up to 5 million gates, has expandable memory capacity up to 48Mbyte and operates at emulation speeds up to 2MHz.

It incorporates IKOS' patented VirtuaLogic compiler and VirtualWires technology.

The VStation-5M features easy memory modeling; accurate modelling of asynchronous clocks; fast, fully automated partitioning and compilation, as well as 100% visibility of internal and external signals.

It has a compact form factor, weighs 49.9kg and operates on 90-264V AC power.

Through the iEN programme, the Vstation-5M is available for customer shipment and installation immediately.

Pricing depends on the exact system configuration and starts as low as $40,150.00 per month, beginning with the fourth month, for a three-board system capable of emulating designs up to 2 million gates and 24Mbyte of memory.
