Integrated Microelectronics is spending the whole month of August celebrating its 24-year anniversary. Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala II, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ayala Corp and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Integrated Microelectronics (IMI), said during last week's flag-raising ceremony: "The trust you have earned from some of the world's leading original electronics companies, the calibre of your work, and the standards you have kept bring tremendous pride to the Ayala Group". Zobel added: "The goal of IMI to become a tier 2 EMS company by 2008 - a company with no less than $500 million annual revenues - is a very ambitious goal but I have no doubt that you can achieve it".

"You are not only achieving great things for us in the Ayala Group".

"You are achieving great things for the Philippines".

IMI is regarded as a leading company in the Philippine electronics industry both in terms of export revenues as well as advocacy on improving domestic conditions for Philippines-based electronics companies.

Moving forward, it aims to conquer the global electronics marketplace as one of the world's top EMS companies.

Under the guidance of Ayala Corp, the Philippines' oldest and largest conglomerate, IMI has progressed from being an IC assembly company to a complete end-to-end electronics manufacturing solutions company to some of the world's leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Its end-to-end solutions cover product design and development, engineering, prototyping, materials management, volume manufacturing (electronic part assembly and complete product assembly), and order fulfilment.

According to Arthur R Tan, IMI President and CEO: "IMI grows faster than the global EMS industry".

"Last year, our dollar revenues increased by 15%, outpacing the industry's 7% growth and the growth rates of the top four EMS companies".

Tan added:, "This year, we foresee 15 to 20% growth based mainly on strong market demand for optical disk drives".

"One of IMI's top customers, who is the market leader in slim recordable drives that compel growth in this sector, continues to expand their operations in our facilities".

"Further, new customers in fast-growing market niches in the communications and consumer electronics sectors will augment our revenues this year".

IMI expects to surpass the 11% growth rate for the global EMS industry this year predicted by the electronics market research firm International Data Corp.
