IDT has strengthened its executive management team with the appointment of Julian Hawkins as Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Hawkins, an 18-year semiconductor industry veteran, will be responsible for the global IDT sales organisation, consisting of approximately 450 direct salespeople and manufacturing representatives, and a global network of distributors in more than 50 countries. He will lead and manage the sales efforts of IDT with an emphasis on expanding the company's total system solutions to enable accelerated packet processing and on building customer relationships throughout key segments of the networking and telecommunications industries.

Hawkins reports directly to Greg Lang, President and CEO of IDT.

Hawkins has a bachelor's degree in computer science, with honours, from Manchester University, UK.

Throughout his career, Hawkins has held sales and marketing positions at significant semiconductor companies in all three major markets - North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

"Julian's extensive experience building and managing teams to address and grow new sales opportunities to full, value-added system solutions with blue-chip companies across multiple sectors in the technology industry is perfectly in line with our corporate strategy and helps move us into the next phase of our growth strategy", said Greg Lang, President and CEO of IDT.

"We are pleased to have Julian on board, and his leadership and drive for success will be a valuable addition to our executive team".

Hawkins, 39, has held several senior management positions for companies in the networking and semiconductor industries.

He joins IDT from Infineon Technologies, where he spent the last three years as Vice President of Sales for North America.

While at Infineon, Hawkins led the company's North American sales, field application and design win teams in a move to a multi-product sales force with billions of dollars in revenue from product and design services.

Hawkins' accomplishments at Infineon included increasing revenue in North America beyond double the industry growth rate and dramatically increasing the company's market share while significantly reducing sales costs.

Hawkins' prior industry experience also includes eight years at Samsung Semiconductor, where he held various management positions, including Vice President of Marketing for memory and flat panel LCD sales in the Americas.

Hawkins led a team of professionals covering product marketing, strategic marketing, applications engineering and product definition, and he was responsible for managing approximately $5 billion in revenue.
