Applied Micro Circuits Corp is shipping the IDT XSC external search coprocessor NSE software development kit and nP Workbench NSE daughtercard as part of its nPsoft development environment for its nP3450 and nP3454 network processor units. The IDT SDK includes a unique, data-accurate system-level architecture model that allows design teams to reduce time to market for products featuring AMCC network processors by developing, verifying and optimising software prior to hardware availability and implementation.
This provides designers the ability to identify possible issues within the system architecture early in the design phase and the potential to explore architecture options to guarantee maximum system performance.
The IDT SDK includes a dataplane macro (DPM) library conforming to the AMCC nPkernel, and production quality, control-plane initialisation, management and searching (IMS) software linking to AMCC's Common Coprocessor API (CoCoA) 2.0 API specification.
In addition, extensive documentation is also available to aid designers using the IDT SDK with AMCC NPUs.
The IDT NSE daughtercard seamlessly attaches to the AMCC nP3400 and nP345x workbench development systems.
It features the IDT 75K62213 NSE, in a 256K x 36 (9Mbit) configuration, with two integrated XSC interfaces.
