Milestone for communications processor
Integrated Device Technology has shipped its one millionth integrated communications processor
This milestone was achieved in less than two years from the time of the first device introduction. IDT is firmly entrenched as the leading provider of integrated communications processors to the managed Layer-2 Ethernet switch market segment. Specifically, the company's RC32332 and RC32334 devices are shipping in products from three of the top four vendors of Ethernet switches.

According to the Dell'Oro Group, the combination of shipments from the top four vendors accounted for approximately 84% of the total market share of the worldwide Layer-2 switched Ethernet market for the first quarter of 2002.
In addition to its leadership in the managed Layer-2 area, IDT's integrated communications processors are being deployed within a series of other enterprise applications, including wireless access points, gateways and virtual private networks (VPNs).
