New from Ibase Technology, the MB895 low power motherboard is designed with a socket that fits an Intel Pentium M processor or an Intel Celeron M processor Ultra Low Voltage. Supporting processor speeds up to 2GHz, running 400 or 533MHz front side bus, the board is intended for use in 1U rack-mount platforms and systems that require low power consumption and high performance. Integrated with the Intel E7520 chipset, the MB895 comes with three Intel 82571 PCIe to dual GigE controllers that yield a total of six gigabit Ethernet interfaces.

Two Gigabit Ethernets are configurable to have bypass function.

Four DDR2 400 SDRAM sockets support up to 16Gbyte of system memory.

'With multiple Ethernets on board, the MB895 is designed for security and router applications such as VPN, firewalls and service routers that require flexible I/O capability and power management', said CS Lin, Ibase's President.

'The new combination of the Intel E7520 chipset with the Pentium M processor offers developers low power processing with new features, such as ECC, high I/O bandwidth and PCI Express, for their high throughput networking applications', said Steve Price, Marketing Director, Intel Infrastructure Processor Division.

'The Intel E7520 chipset-based motherboards from providers, such as Ibase, help customers take advantage of real-time data error correction and more PCI Express lanes for improved bandwidth'.

Versatility expansion comes from two SATA ports, one 32bit Mini PCI connector, two USB 2.0 ports at the front edge and another two at the rear.

Additional I/O includes a pin header for two extra USB 2.0 ports and three COM.

The board has an edge connector supporting 8-lane PCI Express and 33MHz/32bit PCI interfaces.
