ATX industrial motherboard supports the latest Intel Core2 Duo processor E6400 and the Intel Q965 Express chipset

IBase Technology has announced the MB898, an ATX industrial motherboard supporting the latest Intel Core2 Duo processor E6400 and the Intel Q965 Express chipset. The new motherboard provides customers with design capability to create new solutions for multimedia, industrial automation, medical, and gaming applications.

End users will experience revolutionary performance, unbelievable system responsiveness, and energy-efficiency built in, with up to 40% faster performance than previous generation processors, thanks to the Intel Core2 Duo processor E6400.

'IBase is one of the pioneers in delivering embedded boards supporting the latest members of Intel's multi-core processors based on the new Intel Core microarchitecture'.

'Enabled by this new microarchitecture, the MB898 delivers increased performance and greater performance-per-watt, thus increasing overall energy efficiency', said CS Lin, IBase's President.

'Our clients will be taking advantage of the latest arsenal of performance-rich and system-enhancing technologies in the new Intel Core2 Duo processor E6400 and the Intel Q965 Express chipset'.

'Built on Intel Core microarchitecture, the Intel Core2 Duo processor E6400 delivers revolutionary dual-core performance and breakthrough processor energy efficiency', said Joe Jensen, General Manager, Marketing and Platform Programs, Communications Infrastructure Group, Intel.

'By combining this processor with the enhanced multimedia capabilities of the new Intel Q965 Express chipset, this platform enables our ecosystem, like IBase, to offer high performance motherboards that meet the needs of a variety of embedded applications'.

The new MB898 supports a front side bus of up to 1066MHz and to 8Gbyte of dual channel, DDR2-667 memory in four DDR slots for enhanced performance.

It comes with a standard 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet controller and optional gigabit network connectivity.

A rich set of I/O interface features 10 USB ports, four COM ports and two P/S ports.

Onboard expansion is provided by four PCI slots, two PCI-E (x1) slots and one PCI-E (x16) slot.

In addition, the new MB898 has an IDE controller to support native PATA drives and CompactFlash cards.
