IAR Systems launches Kickstart
development kit

IAR Systems has announced the launch of the IAR Kickstart Kit for the NXP LPC2478.

The complete development kit provides a design platform with a touchscreen display for multi-interface communication applications featuring Ethernet and USB device and host The kit is suitable for industrial, medical, point-of-sales and other connected applications, and contains all the necessary hardware and software to allow the developer to design, develop, integrate and test new applications

In addition to an LPC2478 development board and a 32kB limited edition of IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, the kit also contains evaluation editions of IAR Visualstate, IAR Powerpac for ARM, IAR Powerpac USB, and IAR Powerpac TCP/IP.

An IAR J-Link for ARM is also included in the kit, along with example applications for the LPC2478 board, plus board support packages for both IAR Powerpac and Micrium RTOSes.

A 3.5in, 320x200, 24bit, colour TFT LCD display with backlight and touchscreen is also supplied with the kit.

A wide selection of peripherals is also offered including: an mp3 decoder DSP and VS1002D codec; a three-axis digital accelerometer with 11-bit accuracy; a 64M SDRAM; USB host and USB device connector; IRDA transceiver; PS2 keyboard connector; 100Mb/s Ethernet port; CAN driver and connector; RS-232 interface with ICSP control; SD/MMC card connector; Jtag connector; Mictor trace connector; reset button; two user buttons; trimming potentiometer; UEXT connector; audio input and output; and RTC battery holder.
