Texas Instruments is using Imagination Technologies' PowerVR SGX graphics accelerator technology for its next generation application processor family, the OMAP 3 architecture
With support for OpenGL ES 2.0, the OMAP 3 platform delivers advanced 3D graphics for multimedia-rich handsets that rival handheld gaming devices. The OMAP3430 with PowerVR SGX provides a significant increase in graphics performance over the previous generation of processors, setting new benchmarks for graphics performance.

TI's OMAP3430 processor integrates support for OpenGL ES 2.0 and OpenVG graphic standards.
This platform marks the convergence of the software tools for mobile and console game development environments, allowing one game to be created and used across all platforms, including mobile phones, gaming consoles, portable gaming devices and PCs.
With the ability to expand across gaming platforms, the mobile gaming market has a potential market footprint that is much larger than that of the portable gaming console market.
