Hybricon Corp has been awarded a contract to supply Goodrich Corp with a customised liquid cooled chassis for its DB-110 airborne reconnaissance system. The combined chassis of the airborne reconnaissance management system (RMS) and the sensor control unit (SCU) is to be integrated into the Goodrich DB-110 RECCE pod, for use with the DB-110 reconnaissance system. Goodrich's DB-110/RAPTOR (Reconnaissance Airborne Pod for Tornado) is the world's first tactical day/night reconnaissance system.
It allows pilots to capture images day or night using electro-optical sensor technology and then transmit the images to analysts on the ground in real time.
Poland's Ministry of National Defence has selected the DB-110 system for use on F-16 fighters.
