Huber+Suhner has been awarded a second major order for radio frequency assemblies and connectors for the second series of 236 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft

Optical and electrical connectivity specialist Huber+Suhner has recently been awarded a major order for radio frequency assemblies and connectors predestined for the second series of 236 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft. The order, the second for Huber+Suhner, is valued at approximately CHF 13 million and will be processed over the next three to four years.

The first order was for the initial series of 100 Eurofighters.

Huber+Suhner radio frequency components link the system's antennas, computers, transmitters, receivers and other components that together constitute the aircraft's DASS defensive aids subsystem.

The Eurofighter order is part of Huber+Suhner's entry into the promising aircraft construction and aerospace markets which includes orders for a number of the Swiss company's solutions for the highly advanced Airbus A380.

In fact, European and US space missions increasingly rely on Huber+Suhner products.

The Typhoon Eurofighter is Europe's biggest ever military aviation project.

After 20 years of development, the first aircraft have since been delivered.

Current predictions number the ultimate Typhoon Eurofighter production total at 620 aircraft.

Expectations are that Europe's super-aircraft will be manufactured in series for years to come.

The project is operated by a consortium of 400 specialised European aerospace suppliers from partner countries Italy, Germany, the UK and Spain.
