China Mobile selects TD-LTE/SAE network
Huawei has deployed a TD-LTE/SAE trial network for China Mobile.
This new network has a download speed of up to 29Mb/s and will be used for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
Huawei deployed the TD-LTE radio access network and SAE core network for China Mobile and also delivered chipsets and terminals.
This infrastructure and these terminal devices will enable high-definition (HD) video transmission, HD video monitoring, HD video-on-demand (VOD) and mobile internet.
They will support live broadcasting and security for the upcoming events.
Li Changzhu, vice-president of China Marketing at Huawei, said: 'TD-LTE/SAE technologies have the advantage of low latency and high spectrum efficiency and are gaining recognition from operators and other telecom organisations.
'A range of significant technical innovations will be showcased during the Expo and this TD-LTE/SAE trial network is one of the most exciting to be deployed at the event.
'This network adopts Huawei's integrated LTE solution of FDD and TDD technologies, as well as the SAE core network, which is being used in world-leading operators' network modernisations.
Huawei has been appointed to deploy the world's first LTE network for Teliasonera and Europe's largest LTE network for Telenor.
More than 20 LTE/SAE trials have been deployed by Huawei for global operators to date.
