Available now from Hero Electronics, the new Sharp 10.4 and 12.1in TFT LCDs, the LQ104V1DG61 and LQ121S1DG61, are the first displays in Sharp's new Strong 2 series of products. These modules have been designed for industrial automation applications, in particular, but also for use in outdoor sales or information terminals, where displays have to meet the highest demands in terms of reliability, clarity and legibility. The Strong 2 LCDs meet these demands thanks to their high luminance, high contrast ratio, extended temperature range and their high capacity to withstand mechanical stress.

By optimising the pathway of the pixels' voltage potential, Sharp achieves the high contrast ratio of 600:1.

The high brightness of 450cd/m2 is made possible by using glasses with improved transmission coefficients, new backlighting lamps and an optimised coating to attain higher light-emitting efficiency.
