Honda has a complete portfolio of small form-factor pluggable(SFP) hardware, for attaching copper or fibre-optic pluggabletransceivers and cable assemblies into host equipment, such asnetwork switches, routers, servers and storage devices.Honda's SFP system consists of a 20-position SMT connectorfor mounting on the host PCB, enclosed by a low-profile metalcage.

Honda is offering metal cages as easy to assemble one-piecekits or as separate covers and bases, with press-fit orsolder-post board-termination styles.

The SFP system follows thefunction of the standard Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC)products, with reduced size and increased data-transfer rates atand beyond 2.5Gbit/s.
