Head Acoustics will again exhibit its communication quality analysis solutions at VON (Voice-on-the-Net). This international conference and exhibition for VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol) has been one of the most important annual VoIP events in USA, Canada, Europe and Asia since 1997. This year, VON Europe takes place in Stockholm, Sweden, from 23rd to 26th May 2005.
On Booth C10:60 Head Acoustics will offer visitors the opportunity to 'get ahead' by being informed on the latest developments in VoIP speech quality measurement technology.
Moreover, selected co-exhibitors will be able to perform a quick check of their VoIP equipment at the booth.
For this purpose the new version of the Acqua communication analysis system will be used, together with the measurement suites currently available for VoIP which consist of the TIA810, TIA920, P.340 and G.168 norms as well as the HQS-IP and HQS-EC quality standards developed by Head Acoustics.
In the continuously growing VoIP market Head Acoustics is finding growing demand from manufacturers of terminals, gateways and components who appreciate that high speech quality is a key differentiator and an advantage for customers.
For example, leading manufacturers of VoIP equipment participated in the annual ETSI VoIP SQTEs (speech quality test events) organised by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and carried out by Head Acoustics at its test laboratories in Europe and USA.
The participating manufacturers had their equipment tested under defined conditions allowing an anonymous benchmark comparison of each others products.
They also took the chance to share some of Head's knowhow in the area of voice quality measurement and to become familiar with the latest test and analysis methods implemented in the Acqua communication analysis system.
The results of the ETSI VoIP SQTEs have become an important marketing tool for the participating manufacturers, because the test methods used for the SQTE have developed into a standard for speech quality evaluation of VoIP equipment.
Just in time for VON Europe 2005, the new Acqua version 2.1 is available, which has been improved with regard to performance (eg faster report generator) and user-friendliness (eg intelligent hardware configuration wizards).
Another new product shown at the exhibition will be the MFE VII digital measurement front end with V.11, TTL and E1/T1 interfaces, which is suited for data acquisition and signal conditioning when measuring digital communication devices and transmission systems.
In combination with MFE VI it also allows combined electrical/acoustical measurements.
