The award is granted in connection with a comparative survey of German companies carried out by Professor Nikolaus Franke of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. Companies honoured in this way are entitled to use the Top 100 quality mark for one year. The award was presented to Harting at a recent "summit meeting" on the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain.
Factors considered in the survey include innovative processes and organisation, innovation climate, innovation marketing and promotion of innovation by top management.
Harting showed a strong performance in all categories to secure its position among the Top 100.
Harting invented the well trusted and tried Han industrial connector, and has established itself as a leading provider of intelligent components and systems in electronics and electrical engineering.
Harting has also recently formed partnerships with major rail engineering manufacturers, who use the company's connectors to deliver superior transmission rates and currents in data and power transmission.
"Keeping a keen eye on the future is an essential element of the corporate philosophy at Harting", says Richard Wood, Managing Director of the company's UK operation, "and this is one of the reasons why we are becoming increasingly active in new sectors such as signal and power connectors for wind power plants".
