Harting has developed a complete family of D-subminiature connectors that are compatible with surface-mount production processes, including reflow soldering

Traditionally, larger components such as connectors have not lent themselves well to surface mounting because of their size and mechanical loading, so the availability of a comprehensive D-sub range in surface-mount-compatible form will bring considerable benefits to customers wishing to take advantage of the higher board densities and increased productivity offered by surface-mount processes.

These surface-mount-compatible D-sub connectors will allow customers to achieve significant cost reductions by avoiding the extra manufacturing steps like hand soldering, wave soldering or press-in operations required to terminate standard through-hole connectors.

The surface-mount D-sub range is identical in all other respects to Harting's standard D-sub range, and includes male and female types, straight, low-profile and standard right-angled versions, with and without grounding board locks.
