Harting has introduced a number of new additions to its range of D-subminiature connectors including male and female, straight and right-angle versions with stamped contacts and 9, 15, 25 or 35 poles. In addition to incorporating a number of new design features to improve performance, the connectors are now produced on the latest automated high-speed production machinery, ensuring high quality and short lead times.

The connectors feature a new male stamped contact design which offers a cost-effective alternative to the traditional turned-pin approach.
The Harting pin design uses a base metal of 0.3mm thickness, as opposed to the normal 0.2 or 0.25mm, resulting in excellent current-flow capability with no detrimental effects on signal transmission.
In addition, the stamped male pin is based on a novel 'three-matrix dome' design, which ensures a near-perfect spherical shape, leading to smoother insertion.
A new single-piece board grounding clip and screw-lock pin is also incorporated, replacing the three separate parts (PCB clip, grounding pin and free nut) used in traditional designs.
In order to support the demand for short lead times, Harting is holding substantial stocks of the standard D-sub range, enabling a rapid reaction to customer requirements.
