Fieldbus connector for
active bus termination
A new version of Harting's Han-Brid hybrid Fieldbus connector allows the interconnection of shielded copper twisted-pair wires in addition to power cables and fibre-optic links
The new connector is designed to meet the increasing need for signal security in bus systems featuring the decentralised control of field components. The use of Han-Brid not only provides interference-free signal transmission but also leads to reduced installation times and ease of maintenance.

Connectors lock speedily into place
Novel termination technology combines the space-saving benefits of crimp technology with simple and rapid assembly
The connector is designed to carry both power and signal interfaces, and can include up to five power inserts rated at 10A, 24V as well as the two signal inserts and optical-fibre links.
The connector is available as a standard passive cabling connector, or as an active version which incorporates an isolated PCB-mounted DC/DC convertor, allowing it to be used for active bus termination.
The new connector can be used with all common Fieldbus systems, and is standardised for use with DESINA and Profibus.
Han-Brid is compatible with industry-standard hoods and housings in Harting's HAN family, including versions with extra EMC protection as well as sealing to IP65, IP67 or IP68.
