The Mini Coax+ from Harting is a miniature coaxial multipole connector designed to provide high-integrity signal transmission between backplanes and daughter boards at frequencies up to 4GHz. The new device is particularly suited to the requirements of base stations for third-generation mobile communications systems, where robustness and reliability as well as performance are essential.

In addition, to minimise the effects of shear forces on the angled PCB connector, the ground pins are compatible with pin-in-hole surface-mount technology.
This configuration allows the connectors to be automatically assembled on a pick-and-place machine and soldered to the board in a single reflow process, with resulting assembly cost benefits to the manufacturer.
