Harwin is launching a range of connectors in a joint strategic alliance with Starconn.

The Hard Metric connector system is a modular 2.00mm grid system for high density, high-speed board-to-backplane applications for datarates up to 1.0Gbit/s.

The connectors are designed for use in telecomms, networking and high end computing applications.

Offering industry standard compatibility, the range includes type A, B25, B22, B19, AB25, AB22, AB19 and C configurations with or without pre-installed shields.

By using six-contact geometry, a large number of varied contact mating and termination lengths can be provided.

Sequential mating for hot-pluggable applications is available on request.

A range of accessories is available to support all design requirements, including shrouds for midplane applications and coding keys to prevent mismating.

Housings are manufactured from glass-filled PBT, and the compliant press fit contacts are selective gold/tin plated for reliability and performance.

The connectors have a current rating of 1A per pin, and initial contact resistance of 25mohm and operate between -55 and + 125C.

Components are packaged in tubes.
