Harwin's new MP6 range of surface-mount ultra-fine-pitch connectors are suitable for use in notebook computers, PDAs, games machines, telecomms, office automation equipment and for internal mounting where miniaturisation and light weight are paramount.

The 0.6mm pitch board-mounting connectors provide stacking heights of 3, 4 and 5mm between boards.

They are available with up to 100 contact positions, are polarised to prevent mismating, and equipped with locating pegs for accurate PCB placement.

Metal latching clips are available on request if additional strain relief is required.

The housings are manufactured from glass filled LCP in a natural colour and have a UL94V-0 flammability rating.

The housing has a minimum insulation resistance of 100Mohm (after conditioning) and a dielectric withstanding voltage of 200V AC.

Male and female contacts are manufactured from brass and phosphor bronze, respectively, with a selective gold/tin finish.

Contacts will carry up to 0.5A and have a maximum contact resistance of 70mohm (after conditioning).

Both male and female connectors benefit from wide operating temperatures of -40 to +80C.

Standard packaging is tape and reel format on 330mm (13in) reels using embossed carrier tape with removable pick and place pads for automatic placement.
