The complete Green Hills Software product suite is now available for the Freescale i.MX31 multimedia applications processors. The Green Hills suite includes the Multi integrated development environment, Integrity, Velosity and micro-Velosity royalty-free real-time operating systems, TimeMachine tool suite, Green Hills compilers and Green Hills probe. The addition of support for this latest multimedia processor re-affirms Green Hills as the leading third-party supplier of device software optimisation solutions across the wide array of Freescale semiconductor offerings.

Freescale's i.MX31 and i.MX31L multimedia applications processors are high performance engines based on the ARM11 core.

The device has a built-in Image Processing Unit (IPU), an integrated 3D graphics processing unit (i.MX31 only), power management via Freescale's Smart Speed technology, and numerous security features including a security controller (SCC), random number generator accelerator (RNGA), universal unique identification and run-time integrity checker (RTIC).

The i.MX31's performance and security features make it an ideal fit for multimedia players, 3D gaming, and other performance-critical and power-sensitive consumer applications.
