Green Hills Software and Objective Interface Systems have drastically reduced the memory footprint of the software used to build software defined radios
As a result, Multi is the first development environment to support both VxWorks versions 5 and 6. In contrast, it is claimed that Wind River Systems supplies different development environments for each VxWorks version: Tornado for VxWorks 5 and Workbench for VxWorks 6. 'Green Hills Software is the first and only vendor to fulfil the DSO promise of a single, enterprise-wide development solution for organisations using VxWorks', commented Dan O'Dowd, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Green Hills Software.
'Implementing the best DSO strategy requires standardising on one development environment across all projects'.
'With Multi, we provide the only solution that supports Wind River's legacy VxWorks 5, the most widely used RTOS, in addition to Wind River's new RTOS, VxWorks 6'.
'We also support all other popular embedded operating systems, such as our own Integrity and Velosity, Linux and others'.
Green Hills Software's DSO support for VxWorks 6 will be generally available during the fourth quarter of 2005. Request a free brochure from Green Hills Software....
