Research highlights UK redundancy fears
UK redundancy fears are rising rapidly according to recent research from GoJobsite, the UK's leading online recruitment service.

UK redundancy fears are rising rapidly according to recent research from GoJobsite, the UK's leading online recruitment service. The research carried out by GoJobsite during early April 2003 polled 500 employees - revealing that as well as having strong fears of redundancy the majority of employees felt that they would struggle to find a new position if left unemployed. An overwhelming 77% of respondents felt that their jobs were definitely at risk over the next 12 months.
Jackie Jones, HR Manager at GoJobsite comments: "77% is clearly a very negative response, but what we must understand is that in times of economic uncertainty and with many labour sectors having dramatically slowed down their recruitment plans there will inevitably be a feeling of unease about the times ahead".
"Uncertainty is very damaging to the morale of a workforce.
Recent world events and contrasting views regarding the recovery of the UK economy all add to this uncertainty".
The research also revealed that a massive 62% of respondents felt that should they find themselves in the position of being made redundant they did not feel confident about getting a new one.
