Chip Estimate Corp has set up its own a foundry partner programme, with Chartered semiconductor manufacturing as its founder member. Chartered customers will now be able to go to the Chip Estimate and search for IP from Chartered IP partners, as well as through a link from Chartered's website. These IP partners have developed IP spanning several generations of Chartered's technologies including advanced technologies using 90 and 65nm processes.
Analogue and mixed-signal IP ranging from PLLs, DLLS, DACs, ADCs to high speed interconnect IP such as USB 2.0, PCI Express, XAUI, and SATA are representative of the types of IP from Chartered partners listed at on the site.
Design teams can view a list of Chartered IP partners, view those partners' IP datasheets, and review IP status in silicon.
'We are pleased that Chartered has joined our Foundry Partner Programme as another way to serve their customers', commented Adam Traidman, President of Chip Estimate.
'By leveraging our IP search capabilities, Chartered's customers can easily locate the comprehensive IP options available to them'.
'We have a long history of supporting open third-party IP solutions and extending to our customers the benefits of this IP listing capability'.
'Many of our customers have told us they see the value in this capability to research and analyse their IP decisions, and the added capabilities Chip Estimate offers makes it even more useful', said Walter Ng, Senior Director of Platform Alliances at Chartered.
'As part of our ongoing effort to improve the efficiency of design implementation on our processes, we are pleased to be the first foundry to support this IP portal'.
The Chip Estimate Foundry Partner Programme is designed to connect the chip design community with qualified IP designed to work with selected foundries.
Fabless semiconductor companies frequently select a foundry first, then begin architecting their chip plan with available IP for their selected foundry's process technology.
Having a centralised location where foundry customers can search for IP tuned to Chartered's processes using a rank-by-relevance search engine simplifies the chip planning process.
