A new range of high-performance press-fit D-subminiature terminations from GTK can be fitted easily to PCBs without the need for solder.
Primary applications will be in backplane boards for telecommunications and datacommunications systems.
Press-fit technology provides robust, secure mounting of connectors to PCBs, eliminating the need for soldering.
This reduces assembly time and cost significantly, and removes the risk of uneven solder flow or contamination of sensitive components, creating a tight and reliable seal.
An additional benefit is the ability to remove or replace the connector easily by applying pressure in the reverse direction.
GTK press-fit D-sub connectors are available in 9- to 37-way options, and are suitable for use with all PCBs and backplanes.
A wide range of mounting options is available including board locks, standoffs and threaded inserts.
Constructed from high-temperature nylon 6T plastic, GTK's press-fit D-sub terminations can be used effectively from -55 to +235C.
