Global Technology Conferences is now accepting submissions for the "First-look new product forum" during GSPx, the international embedded solutions event.
The new product forum, which will be held from 27th to 30th September at the Santa Clara Convention Centre, showcases new hardware, software and EDA products for developing embedded solutions.
Awards will be presented to products offering the greatest promise for the industry.
Eligible products: can be designed and/or manufactured by any related industry organisation, not just GSPx exhibitors; must relate to the embedded applications industry; and cannot be publicly announced prior to 27th September 2004.
On behalf of GSPx, Will Strauss and Jim Lipman will serve as the new product forum judges.
Their responsibilities include reviewing and selecting products for showcase inclusion as well as determining which products will receive awards.
Strauss and Lipman will honour embargoes on all submitted product information until 27th September 2004.
Will Strauss is the President of Forward Concepts, a full-service market research firm focused primarily on digital signal processing (DSP) and related fields.
Serving as the firm's principal DSP analyst, Strauss is recognised as a notable authority.
He frequently publishes articles in outlets such as Embedded Computing Design and EE Times, and regularly pens IEEE Signal Processing Magazine's "Signal processing market musing" column.
"GSPx is the ideal forum to introduce new embedded technology products as this year's expected show attendance is more than 4000 people", said Dr Amnon Aliphas, GSPx Conference Chairman.
"We encourage companies to submit product descriptions that clearly define the technology, its application and its benefit to the industry as competition in this programme increases considerably each year".
"To illustrate the elite competition, only 15% of the products submitted to the 2003 new product forum earned awards".
Jim Lipman is a recognised expert in the embedded industry.
He is a former Technical Editor of EDN and is a frequent contributor to TechOnline.
He received the 1999 American Society of Business Press Editors Silver Award for a technical article he cowrote on "E-noses nose out traditional odour-detection equipment".
To be included in the new product forum and considered for the related award programme, companies must send to the judges a product description of 400 words maximum and no more than two supporting graphics.
The deadline for submissions is 1st September 2004.
