Frame relay support has been added to FarSite's FarSync X.21 T-Series range on Linux. Drivers for the cards are now included in the standard Linux kernel distributions from V2.4.9 onwards. The versatile intelligent FarSync X21 T-Series cards provide up to 8.448Mbit/s per port WAN solutions for X.21 and V.35 connectivity requirements - replacing standalone routers.

The two- and four-port cards install seamlessly under the Linux kernel on both single and multiprocessor systems.

The T-Series cards are supported on Linux distributions supplied by Red Hat, SuSE, Mandrake, Debian and Slackware with kernel versions 2.2 and 2.4.

FarSite is committed to supporting the FarSync X25 T-Series products on new versions of Linux as they are released.

The source code for the driver and the library for the API is supplied with the product.

The products are also supported on Windows XP, 2000 and NT.

The link level protocol on the WAN connection can be frame relay, PPP or Cisco HDLC.

Multiple cards can be installed, to create a very low-cost high-speed WAN hub.

Once initialised using the simple configuration tool, each serial port provides a standard point-to-point network interface controllable with all the standard Linux networking tools.
