No multiplication cuts oscillator jitter
Fox Electronics has introduced a device it claims to be the industry's first and only 300MHz programmable oscillator
The newest expansion to Fox's extensive JITO-2 (just-in-time) line of programmable oscillators features lower jitter than that achieved using onboard frequency multiplication, as the higher reference frequency eliminates the need to multiply the frequency to achieve the needed rate. In addition to the popular compact 5 x 7.5mm ceramic package, the 300MHz programmable JITO-2 oscillators are offered in all-metal 8- and 14-pin DIL and plastic surface mount packages.
Frequency stabilities for the new oscillator are +/-100, +/-50 or +/-25ppm over a temperature range of -40 to +85C and +/-20ppm over a temperature range of -20 to +70C.
Pricing for a 5 x 7.5mm JITO-2 oscillator with a 300MHz frequency, a stability of +/-100ppm, and temperature range from -20 to +70C, in a 3.3 or 5.0V version, starts at $9.00 each in quantities of 1000.
